Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL (hybrid)

Pay Range: $65-85/hour (6 month contract)

Must Haves:

• Black Belt- Lean Six Sigma experience
• 10+ years as a manufacturing engineer or related role
• Experience with tech hardware in a previous role specifically building and troubleshooting- (motherboard and being able to build/troubleshoot)
• Experience auditing manufacturing processes

Responsibilities:

Process Development and Improvement:

• Develops, implements, and improves manufacturing processes and methods.
• Identifies and implements solutions to production problems.
• Oversees the development of new processes, methods, and production controls.
• Ensures compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Conducts root cause failure analysis and corrective actions.

Project Management:

• Manages manufacturing-related projects, coordinating activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leads projects to improve process monitoring, quality, and reduce costs.

Technical Expertise:

• Provides technical expertise to solve issues related to vendor schedules and quality.
• Offers technical solutions for operational issues and advanced troubleshooting.
• Provides input on materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes during the design phase.

Continuous Improvement:

• Implements Lean initiatives to continuously improve production processes.
• Utilizes tools like value stream mapping, overall equipment effectiveness, and 5S to improve quality, labor efficiency, throughput, and cycle time.

Documentation and Training:

• Prepares operations manuals for new or existing equipment.
• Develops, implements, and supports production documentation, including manufacturing procedures, routers, and bill of materials (BOM).
• Trains others to operate new machinery.

Other:

• Participates in risk management activities, including product and process FMEA.
• Supports reliability engineering activities.
• Complete verification and validation master plans for supplier qualification and/or certification.
• Lead validating specialized processes (cleaning, sterilization, biocompatibility, porous and plasma coating, additive manufacturing, etc.).
