About the Company:

Our client is a respected General Contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across Honolulu and the broader Hawaii region. They specialize in large-scale commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, with a focus on excellence, collaboration, and timely project completion. With a growing portfolio and expanding team, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to contribute to their success.

Position Overview:

As a Project Engineer , you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects ranging from $10M to $50M in value. You will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project planning: Collaborate with project managers and the project team to develop project schedules, budgets, and plans.
  • Coordinate logistics: Manage daily project coordination, including materials ordering, delivery tracking, and workforce coordination.
  • Support project documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and punch lists.
  • Monitor project progress: Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget by tracking milestones and assisting with project forecasting.
  • Safety and compliance: Support safety efforts on the job site by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Communication: Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project flow and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Quality control: Assist in maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship on all project components.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in construction or project engineering, ideally with exposure to projects in the $10M - $50M range .
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and building codes.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Location: Must be based in Honolulu or willing to relocate.
