About Us Sentinel Devices is at the forefront of decentralized AI/ML for industrial devices. We build data collection and monitoring platforms for industrial equipment that can operate completely off of the cloud - all data storage, processing and decision-making happens entirely locally. This means our devices are used to monitor hard-to-reach or security-sensitive assets - we make reaching these assets cost-effective for our customers.

About the Role To deliver these capabilities to our customers, Sentinel Devices develops extensive custom software for both embedded runtimes on Linux devices and for user-facing GUIs. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will: Discuss requirements and needs with customers, converting these discussions into meaningful extensions, additions or engineering enhancements to our core platform. Work within our existing codebase and systems to carry out additions and/or extensions to the codebase. Identify areas of improvement for the existing codebase and proactively resolve or address them. Be responsible for leading the overall architecture design and development of both runtime code and user-facing code which enable new features and improve current features. Coordinate with other employees or contractors to deliver your design choices and the envisioned architecture successfully. Develop runtime code and user-facing code which bring new features to life or improves current features to meet customer expectations. Work within our existing build system and approaches to design, implement, test and validate these features, communicating with company personnel to ensure they are delivered on-time and within specifications. This is a full-time on-site position over the Summer, which means that you will be required to work within the company's office space in Atlanta, GA. Because of specific contract requirements with government sponsors, this role requires U.S. citizenship. Programming languages in our stack: Python (a LOT of Python)
