Qualifications What You'll Do: Under the direction of the Office Manager, you will lead a team of office assistants, taking ownership of crucial functions such as accounts payable, supply inventory, and team workload management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Guiding and coaching team members to achieve their best.
- Assisting with staff scheduling to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitoring team workload to maintain efficiency.
- Coordinating office moves and travel arrangements.
- Providing support for event coordination.
- Participating in the hiring process to build our dedicated team.
- Serving as the primary timekeeper for the department.
- Leading office support tasks and ensuring excellent service delivery.

Must-Have Qualifications: Education and Experience: - High school graduate or GED.
- Three to five years of responsible and advanced administrative experience, including accounting or financial experience.
- Experience or demonstrated skill in supervisory functions (evaluation, coaching, training, communication, team building, conflict resolution).
- Preferred: Experience with Workday financial platform.
- Preferred: Experience in coordinating travel and procurement.
- Consideration will be given to other combinations of education and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the work.
Knowledge of: - General office procedures and policies.
- Business English (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
- Filing and record-keeping procedures.
- Applicable laws and county codes relevant to the department.
- Bookkeeping methods and practices relevant to the position.
- Accounts payable processes.
- General business processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to: - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Incorporate critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Establish and maintain effective prioritization of tasks.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the public, other governmental agencies, contractors, and county staff.
- Communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Apply principles of effective leadership.
- Understand and adhere to department goals and procedures.
- Apply technical and/or specialized functions, policies, and procedures of the work unit.
- Utilize applicable computer applications effectively.
- Compose effective business correspondence.

- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with management, staff, and the public.
- Effectively assign and schedule workloads within a team.

Makes recommendations for the development, revision, and implementation of new or improved office procedures and systems.
Provides day-to-day assistance and guidance.
Schedules, distributes, and assigns work.
Counsels employees on performance issues.
Participates in performance appraisals.
As an individual contributor, handle the more complex issues and tasks within the work groups.
Gathers and compiles information and prepares reports and analyses in response to problems or as assigned.
Provides direct customer service in the more complex service areas.
Develops and maintains computer databases or manual records systems.
Uses spreadsheets to track, analyze, and report quantitative information.
Process forms, applications, service requests, and payments.
Coordinates and organizes meetings, activities, and functions; schedules rooms, assures notification of participants, arranges for necessary equipment and supplies.
Fills in as needed for absent staff.
Salary Grade M3.7
Salary Range $26.50 - $35.78- per hour

Retirement Information All Clark County employees must participate in a WASHINGTON STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM PLAN (PERS, PSERS or LEOFF).Employee contributions begin the first day of work.
