Available Location: Chicago, Illinois About the Position The Cloudflare Field CISO will have expertise in Cloud technologies and cloud-native computing trends, as well as enterprise computing, security, and networking technologies. The person in this role will possess a passion for helping people and communities connect to our platform and achieve their short- and long-term technology goals. The ideal candidate will enjoy educating and influencing broad audiences about new technologies and their benefits, delivering outstanding content, technical expertise, and support in various formats. The candidate will work closely with our most critical clients and prospects to articulate the Cloudflare Global Platform message and drive deeper technical engagement and market adoption. The Field CISO will partner with Cloudflare's Engineering, Product, and go-to-market teams to promote the impact and adoption of our security and performance platform. We are seeking a highly skilled Field CISO with a strong background in the technological sector. Reporting to the Chief Cyber Solutions Officer, this regional leadership role will be responsible for achieving corporate objectives and growth targets. The role acts as both a technology and business expert, making strategic decisions impacting the company's future operations. It will also serve as a public-facing persona representing the organization at conferences, media engagements, analyst events, and other industry forums. What You'll Do Work directly with customers and prospects to deliver executive-level demonstrations and collaborate with strategic sales to implement solutions within customer environments. Evangelize our technology platform relative to the status quo. Develop and execute a regional go-to-market strategy aligned with the company's overall strategic roadmap. Define and simplify the Cloudflare offerings for key market segments and communicate key messaging effectively. Build awareness of market conditions and the competitive landscape. Collaborate with international leadership on key initiatives. Introduce new innovations to the market via traditional and social media channels, blogs, and analyst briefings. Drive business activities including business reviews, pipeline generation, and deal assistance. Engage with strategic accounts by building relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers, promoting product adoption. Work with global leaders to define regional priorities that support company success. Contribute to tactical and strategic planning within the regional leadership team to increase technology awareness and market development. Be willing to work remotely as needed and travel regularly (at least 30%) to engage with customers. Serve as a technical voice within the company, working with solution engineering to evolve products based on market and customer needs. Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience 10+ years of experience in IT, Cyber Security, Consultancy, Service Provider, or Telecommunications, including at least three years in a similar leadership role. Owns CxO-level relationships and has strong existing executive and industry connections. Background in technology startups that led to significant growth or acquisitions. Experience translating technological visions into successful business outcomes and leading digital transformations. Solid understanding of cloud-based models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and experience in digital and cloud transformation projects. Experience working with Web-Scale organizations or large service providers. Strong background in Cyber Security, Security Operations, and IT Risk Governance. Experience speaking at public forums and industry events. Proven track record of building and managing high-performing technical teams. Excellent communication and influencing skills. Advanced technical knowledge and a forward-looking industry perspective. Ability to form and maintain effective internal and external partnerships. Ability to articulate a clear vision for change and support teams through transition.
