Expeditor

Location: Houston, TX

Description:

The Expeditor understands Procurement and Supply Chain (PSC) processes and systems to improve and maintain them. He/she is responsible for tracking the orders, handling delivery delays, coordinating with the warehouse manager, and ensuring all orders have been shipped. The expeditor is responsible for ensuring the company has the supplies and inventory needed to function according to schedule. Their duties include communicating with the suppliers about the status of supplies and problem-solving to reduce the impact of late shipments.

Responsibilities:

• Expedites deliveries to meet business needs and schedules.
• Update purchase orders promise dates, delivery locations and PO changes accordingly.
• Develops and communicates on time delivery goals for key supplier base.
• Contacts vendors for the purpose of verifying information and/or responding to inquiries.
• Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving issues or referring to appropriate parties.
• Collaborates with management in developing and communicating corrective action plans to bring suppliers into compliance.
• Participates on implementation projects and participates as assigned on special projects.
• Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Operations Management (or 4 to 6 years equivalent work experience).
• Proficient in MS Office.
• PC skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.
