In this role, you'll be pivotal in shaping the future of dental assistants by offering both classroom instruction and hands-on experience. You'll work closely with students, helping them build the technical skills, confidence, and professional knowledge they need to succeed in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver dynamic and engaging lectures and presentations on a variety of dental assisting topics, including dental anatomy, radiology, infection control, chairside assisting, dental materials, and more.
Provide practical, hands-on training in lab settings to enhance students' technical skills and prepare them for real-world dental procedures.
Supervise students during clinical rotations, ensuring they follow safety protocols and professional standards while providing valuable guidance.
Regularly assess student progress through exams, assignments, and practical evaluations, offering constructive feedback and personalized support for growth.
Stay current with the latest advancements in the dental industry and integrate new trends and best practices into the curriculum.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and positive learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
Offer mentorship and career advice, supporting students throughout their educational journey and helping them set goals for their future careers.
Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods, creating a dynamic and enriching learning experience.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
3-5 years of hands-on experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting.
In-depth knowledge of dental assisting techniques, procedures, and best practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for a variety of learning styles.
A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed in their careers.
Ability to provide constructive, motivating feedback and guidance to students.
Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse students.
Current dental assistant certification or licensure is preferred but not required.
Previous teaching experience or instructional roles are a plus.
Strong computer skills.
Hours & Schedule:
