We are seeking a high caliber and ambitious Category Manager to join our team in either Sylmar, CA or Irvine, CA or Scottsdale, AZ in the CRM Division. This position will be responsible for a greater than $70 Million in spend in the Electronics components category globally and take on more spend based on performance. Opportunity to deliver is very high and this will be a good fit for a candidate that is self-driven and results oriented. This is a fully on-site role, open to location preference. Responsibilities include implementing sourcing strategies to support objectives in electronic component categories, locating and developing a consolidated supplier base, directing negotiation and management of contracts/agreements, providing guidance and mentoring to the purchasing/commodity team, developing risk management strategies, performing cost analyses, monitoring supplier performance, maintaining supplier relationships, supporting procurement projects, creating long-term partnerships with suppliers, developing cross-functional teams, tracking market factors, compiling market condition information, developing materials policies and procedures, supporting company initiatives including Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems, complying with FDA regulations and company policies, and maintaining positive communications with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry/Biology or similar, 8 years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management, experience in a highly regulated environment, strong negotiation and contract management skills, ability to work in a matrixed and diverse environment, strong communication skills, multitasking and organizational skills, and ability to travel up to 20% including internationally. Preferred qualification is Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
