About the Role

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in sourcing, overseeing and managing the pursuit and preconstruction phase of construction projects across the Dakotas. This position is responsible for identifying potential customers and projects, leading pursuit efforts, organizing pricing efforts, and conducting new market and new client research. This client-driven, seller-doer role is responsible for profitable revenue growth across our Dakotas region. The Business Development Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to promote Enclave's capabilities, win business, and ensure efficient and accurate project planning, cost analysis, and risk assessment.

  • Primary Work Location: West Fargo, ND - Headquarters
  • Work Environment: On-Site
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 am - 5 pm
  • Work Type: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join our team and help us expand our reach, build lasting relationships, and secure exciting new projects.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and expand a network of prospective clients, trusted trade partners, and AEC professionals. Use these connections to identify leads and convert them into successful projects.
  • Market Analysis: Research and analyze target market sectors and strategic customers. Develop and execute both short and long term strategies to strengthen customer relationships and drive business growth.
  • Database Management: Utilize CRM tools to track sales contacts, opportunities, and project information. Ensure accurate and up to date data is available for marketing and proposal development.
  • Market Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging opportunities, positioning Enclave strategically to respond to RFQs/RFPs effectively.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with operational leaders to evaluate leads, guide go/no-go discussions, and develop strong pursuit strategies.
  • Client Engagement: Support operational leaders in making initial contact with potential clients, ensuring a positive and impactful first impression.
  • Proposal Leadership: Lead the preparation of proposals, presentations, and interviews, ensuring the project team is well-prepared and aligned with client expectations.
  • Event Participation: Organize and participate in trade shows, client-related events, and networking opportunities, actively promoting Enclave's values and business model.

  • Strong analytical thinkers who can interpret complex data and make sound decisions

  • Proficient in construction estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skilled at influencing senior-level stakeholders and building strong professional relationships
  • Organized and proactive, with a knack for creating and executing client-focused strategies
  • Proven leaders with a successful track record in managing business development and preconstruction for various project delivery models
  • Experienced in full business development process, from lead identification to project award

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field (master's degree preferred)
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in business development, preconstruction management, project estimation or the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
  • Certifications: Professional certification such as PMP, CPE, LEED or other industry-related certifications a plus
