Job Description

Frame48 (frame48.com) is a 3D motion design studio. We produce animated content for industry-leading brands and agencies. Located in Culver City, our facilities are home to artists and creatives at the forefront of design and graphics technology.

We’re looking for a 3D Animation Intern to join our team this summer, focusing on animation in Houdini. This paid internship ($20/hr) runs from June 9th through August 22nd, with a 4-day in-office workweek at our Culver City studio.

As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple commercial projects, collaborating closely with our animation team to bring scenes to life through movement, rhythm, and visual storytelling. You’ll also learn how to maintain a clean and efficient animation pipeline in Houdini while sharpening both your technical and creative skills in a fast-paced studio environment.

Responsibilities

• Animate objects, characters, environments, and abstract elements using Houdini for commercial and internal projects

• Continue developing animation skills and deepening your understanding of Houdini through hands-on production work

• Collaborate with 3D leads, designers, and creative directors to meet animation goals and timelines

• Participate in team reviews and iterate on notes efficiently

• Assist with shot assembly, scene cleanup, and general production tasks as needed\

Requirements

• Proficient in a 3D Software package (Maya / Houdini / Blender)

• Basic understanding of Houdini is a plus.

• Basic understanding of compositing software is a plus (AE / Nuke)

• Strong sense of timing, motion, and visual composition

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Organizational and time-management skills

• Enthusiastic and passionate
